Iranian Kids Awarded at Romania Contest

Fifteen Iranian children received awards at the 9th International Art Contest for Children ‘Rainbow’ in Romania.

Running with the theme of ‘Loving the Earth’, the competition evaluated a total of 3294 artworks from 27 countries, IRNA reported.

The 15 children received the prestigious awards, while Iran participated in the competition with 857 paintings.

Sepideh Taheri, 10 and Meysam Abdollahi 12, both got the First Prize Medal. Amir-Hossein Valizadeh 12, Hassan Mohammadi 11, and Melika Moayyeri 9 won the 2nd Prize Medal. And the 3rd Prize Medal was awarded to Benyamin Keramatinia and Hossein Kabiri, 12 years old.

The purpose of the contest “was to awaken responsibility for the environment through children’s actions, simple gestures that anyone can make.” Through art expressions it sought to make the natural environment a better place to live in. Becoming aware of the environmental problems “around our living place, and finding simple and efficient solutions” were other goals the contest pursued.

The exhibition of the participating artworks was held in the Romanian city of Curtea de Arges.
