Several local music bands will present special performances for foreign guests on the last three days of the 31st Fajr International Music Festival from February 18-20.

The well-known Kamkars (Kurdish family from Sanandaj, capital of Kurdistan Province) and Behdad Babai, Shervin Mohajer, Babak Ghassali, Zakaria Yousefi and Siamak Jahangiri, are among the music directors who will conduct musical pieces for global music directors and special guests in the final segment of the Fajr fest, Mehr News Agency reported.

The guests are accredited directors of world music festivals and outstanding musicians, who will assess the renditions of Iranian musicians and prepare the grounds for their presence on the international stage, a step towards promoting cultural interaction between Iran and the outside world.  

Director of Geneva Ethnography Museum, Laurent Aubert, music program manager at the Holland Festival, Jochem Valkenburg, vice president of jazz and electronic music department of Beaux-Arts National School of Fine Arts in Paris, Antonius von der Ekon, executive director of National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage of Pakistan, Fouzia Saeed, and director of All Pakistan Music Conference (APMC), Ayla Raza are among the foreign guests at the Fajr Music Festival.

Music bands from Spain, Italy, France, Austria and Pakistan, along with Iranian groups will present repertoires from folklore, traditional and Latin pieces for music enthusiasts at Iran’s most prestigious music event, annually held from February 10 to 20, to mark the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
