Concurrent with President Hassan Rouhani visit, Paris will host Iran’s cultural week from January 28 to February 4.

The event is co-organized by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO), cinema affairs office of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Iranian Chamber of Commerce and the Municipality of Paris, Honaronline reports.

The event will be inaugurated at Hotel de Ville, the building housing the local administration of Paris.

Several celebrated Iranian artists like Reza Kianian, cinema and TV actor, Daryoush Talaei and Keivan Saket, musicians, are invitees.

An exhibition of over 100 unique and highly valuable Iranian handicrafts, and programs on Iranian cinema and music, including performances of Saket and Talaei, and displaying a selection of movies screened at the 34th Fajr International Film Festival, conferences on Iran’s civilization, culture and art are among the programs scheduled for the week-long event.

Rouhani arrived in Paris on Wednesday following his two-day visit to Italy and the Vatican.  Though the visit is billed as an important milestone in restoring economic ties with France, the political significance of his European tour is not lost on observers who believe Rouhani is determined to restore normalcy with the outside world as he strives to put the country back on track.
