Female Archer Iran Flag-Bearer for Olympics

Iranian female Paralympic archer Zahra Ne’mati was named as the flag-bearer of the Iranian sports team at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The 30-year-old sportswoman will carry Iran’s flag at the opening ceremony of the Games, said a statement posted on the website of the National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran (NOCIRI), reports IRNA.
Ne’mati competed in the individual re-curve competitions of 2015 World Archery Asian Para Championships in the Thai capital Bangkok (Nov. 10-19) and picked up a gold medal for Iran with a total score of 647 points, securing a place in the Rio Paralympics.
The tournament brought together dozens of male and female Paralympic archers from 15 Asian countries, including China, Taiwan, Iran, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand.
Earlier on November 8, Ne’mati earned a slot at the 2016 Olympic Games by taking the silver in the women’s individual contests of the Asian Archery Championships in Bangkok (Nov.1-9).
