A documentary film ‘Parviz Tanavoli: Poetry in Bronze’ featuring exclusive interviews with the globally renowned Iranian artist will be shown at the Kay Meek Center in West Vancouver, Canada, on January 28.

The film will illuminate the emergence and rise of the artist who is one of the leading figures in the international art world and continues creating artistic masterpieces, Cinetmag.com reported.

Born in Tehran, Tanavoli, 78, graduated from the Brera Academy of Milan in 1959.

He is known for creating beautiful sculptures and paintings and his works have been exhibited and auctioned around the world.

The documentary will be presented by Neekoo Philanthropic Society, a nonprofit organization established in 2012 by a group of Iranian-Canadian professionals in Vancouver.

Neekoo provides educational grants to students in financial need through funds raised by sponsors and donors. Proceeds of the event will be donated to the society.

Kay Meek Center was also host to a program by another Iranian group in Vancouver on January 24. ‘Persian Poetry in Motion #2’ organized by Hafez Literature Club, was dedicated to the inspiring music and poetry which are found in the rich culture and tradition of Iran.

The presentation included poetry reciting in English and Persian, storytelling in English and live music performances.
