Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati and Venezuelan Ambassador to Tehran Amenhotep Zambrano on Saturday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on expansion of cultural and arts cooperation between the two countries.
“Iran is ready to broaden cooperation in the field of culture and arts including holding of cultural week,” IRNA quoted Jannati as saying.
The two sides can translate the works of Iranian and Venezuelan writers for the benefit of interested groups. This will help bring the two nations closer, he added. “Media cooperation between the two sides can also help introduce traditions, history and civilization.”
The Venezuelan envoy, for his part, urged expansion of cultural cooperation between the two countries and said, “the Islamic Republic of Iran has an ancient civilization and Venezuela is eager to broaden cultural and political relations with the country,” he stated.
