The Iranian side of the permit was issued two years ago. However, following problems in the agreement between the two sides, the project was put on hold up until now.

But it was revived and facilitated through the cooperation of the Iranian Embassy in New Delhi, the Indian Embassy in Tehran, the Iranian film company ‘Sky Frame’ and the Indian firm ‘Motion Pictures’.

The cast includes a mix of Iranian and Indian actors including Mohammadreza Golzar, Benyamin Bahadori, Dia Mirza, Gulshan Grover and Behrouz Chahal.a

Produced by Javad Noruzbeigi from Iran and Indian producer Pahlaj Nihalani and directed by Iranian Ghorban Mohamadpur, 80% of ‘Salaam Mumbai’, will be shot in Indian locations and the remaining in Iran.
