The Persian Language Center of the Iranian Embassy in Moscow opened on Sunday.

Head of the Persian Language and Literature Conservatory and Sa’adi Foundation Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, Iranian Cultural Attaché Reza Maleki, head of the Persian Language Faculty of Moscow State University Vladimir Ivanovo, head of the Faculty of Literature of Allameh Tabatabaie University Nematollah Iranzadeh and Persian language and literature professors and university students attended the opening ceremony, ISNA reported.

Haddad-Adel referred to Iran-Russia friendship and the vast literary treasures in Iranian literature. Pointing to the extension of Persian language in Russia, he said 15 Russian students attended the summer language teaching program in Tehran this year and special language classes in Russia were also conducted.

The newly established center can and should further promote Persian language, he added.

Maleki emphasized the necessity of establishing bilateral collaboration between academic centers and universities from both sides. He hoped the Sa’adi Foundation would turn into an independent Persian language development center covering a larger arena in the near future.

A Persian language website was also unveiled, creating a platform for Russian enthusiasts to get more familiar with the official language of Iran. Interested people may visit for further information.
