A Christmas charity bazaar held in the Croatian capital Zagreb on December 6, displayed Iranian handicrafts, art and traditional food.

Iran’s stall was warmly welcomed by the visitors, who showed interest in Iranian artworks and cuisines, posing many questions, IRNA reported.

The event was attended by Iran’s Chargé d’Affaires to Zagreb Mojtaba Akrami, and other  embassy officials.

“Our traditions and cultural heritage was introduced to the visitors,” Akrami said.”Iranians have always been charitable and ready to help the needy.”

The Christmas Bazaar is the International Women’s Club Zagreb’s trademark fundraising event and has become a popular pre-Christmas event for locals and foreigners alike.

This year, 46 nations including China, India, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Georgia, Ireland,  Sweden, Canada, the UK and Iran offered various products and tasty treats, sweet and savory in a festive atmosphere marked by creativity and individual craftsmanship. Apart from the gastronomy, visitors were especially drawn to the stage with children’s parade and international dance and song performances.

All the proceeds of the event are earmarked for two mental healthcare facilities.

The non-profit IWCZ was established in 1993 with the aim of creating a social network for foreign women living in the city. A vibrant and multicultural club, it offers expatriates the opportunity to connect, network and socialize.
