Storytelling workshops will be held by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism (RICHT) at the Peace Museum, Moqadam and Negarestan Garden museums in Tehran to celebrate National Research Week (December 16-22).

The plan will familiarize children with literature and storytelling, in addition to different aspects of museum activities.

Brief introduction to the history of storytelling, types of narration in Iranian culture, different dimensions of cultural heritage, innovative plans implemented in museums and various story-telling styles internationally are to be covered in the workshops, IRNA reported.

The plan will also include workshops with a fresh approach, giving the participants a new experience, said Leila Kaffashzadeh, head of Children and Young Adults Research Office at the RICHT.

The workshops, instructed by Mohit Tabatabaei, senior advisor at RICHT, Masoud Naseri, head of Nations’ Doll Museum and Kaffashzadeh, will address storytellers, museum directors and leaders, and interested participants.

The audience will narrate tales on a decorated stage at the end of the sessions. Instructors and leaders will also provide guidance for children attending the workshops.

The best stories, children’s books and storytelling references will be displayed.
