Cultural Interaction With Austria

Head of the National Library and Archives Organization of Iran (NLAI) Seyyed Reza Salehi-Amiri met his Austrian counterpart Johanna Rachinger on Saturday in Vienna.
Invited by General Director of the Austrian National Library, Amiri-Salehi told Rachinger that the policy of President Hassan Rouhani is to boost Iran’s relations with other countries and when “speaking of cultural relations one cannot help but remember Austria,” IBNA reported.
He pointed out that nine Iranian literary works have been registered in UNESCO’s Memory of the World and expressed Iran’s interest in registering other works jointly with other nations, especially Austria.
Rachinger hailed the Iranian delegation’s visit and asserted readiness to hold a joint cultural fair in 2019.
Before heading to Austria, Salehi-Amiri visited German libraries and archive centers and held meetings with their directors on boosting library cooperation.
