The play ‘Migration’ is the theater directorial debut of Hossein Ahmadi-Qajari which is on stage in Tehran as part of the 15th Resistance Theater Festival.

After acting for 12 years in theatrical works, Ahmadi-Qajari has chosen a play by Fatemeh Makari which he believes is different from the cliché texts.

“The play comprises three episodes, each different in their stories but similar in content and theme,” the director said.

It narrates three periods of history in Iran in 1953, 1980 and 1995. In all stories there are characters, that is artists, who have decided to leave the country because of their past but are forced to change their decision as their secrets are revealed, Pershianews.ir reported.

“The play focuses on their lives and the incentives which made them change their minds,” Ahmadi-Qajari said. Besides the common thread in the episodes, a suitcase is also seen in all stories as a symbol for migration.

Mayam Jafari, Shahrzad Kiani, Reza Amuzad and Elaheh Asghari perform in the play which is on stage till December 4, at the Theater Organization, Pars St., Enqelab St., Tehran.
