Well-known Polish graphic designer and President of the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw Lech Majewski will attend the Grand Graphic Conference in the southern city of Shiraz, Fars Province.
Majewski has been invited by the city’s Eram Higher Education Institute to deliver a speech on December 1 at the University of Shiraz, Mehr News Agency reported.
Secretary of the conference Mohammad-Ali Karimipur said: “Following the poster competition and exhibition ‘Poland in the Eyes of Iran,’ held on the occasion of the 540th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and Iran in September, Majewski will pay a visit to Shiraz.”
Moreover, his poster exhibition will open in Tehran on November 27 at Imam Ali Museum where he will deliver a speech on the following day.
On his style in creating posters, Majewski says, “I try to avoid trends and prefer to go my way, from my world perception. It also matters a lot to whom the work is addressed. I choose forms of expressions as far as the merit, interpretation and graphic designs are concerned. I like colors. I like drawings. Each element in my work has its specific function, contributing to the whole composition.”
Born in Olsztyn, Poland, Majewski graduated from the Faculty of Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He works as a graphic artist in the area of poster and book design, as well as illustration.
He has held lectures and workshops in many universities and also exhibitions in Poland, Switzerland, France, Italy, Finland, Mexico, Chile, Brazil and the Netherlands.
