Golestan city in Fars Province will host the 13th edition of the Fars Book Fair. The motto of the exhibition is ‘Much Quality, Less Quantity.’
The event opens November 24 at a ceremony which will be attended by Seyed Abbas Salehi, head of the cultural bureau of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Honaronline reported.
According to a statement by the Culture and Islamic Guidance Organization of the province, over 1000 Iranian publishers have applied to participate in the six-day event. Newly published books will be categorized and presented based on subject matter, said Ahmadreza Nadaf, head of the organization.
“The best publishers and active stalls will be introduced on the sidelines of the event.”
“Discounts worth $300,000, will be given to the visitors, Nadaf added.
Provincial cultural bureau chief Bahareh Shafiei, said the best publishers will be selected at the event. “The exhibition will focus more on quality.”
A program ‘Night Sky’ has also been planned and provides for visitors to watch the galaxy through 3D equipment. Furthermore, a stall with scientific materials and instruments on space studies will be part of the cultural programs.
Street theatre will spice up the children’s section of the fair.
The exhibition will run through November 29 at the city’s permanent fairgrounds.
