Iran Cultural Fairs Institute (ICFI) will participate in the 34th International Istanbul Book Fair, slated for November 7-15.
The institute will present 345 titles on religion, Iranian studies, history and art and introduce 16 distinguished Iranian researchers of Rumi (Mawlana), the 13th-century Persian poet, Islamic scholar and Sufi mystic.
Given Iran and Turkey’s close cultural interaction, ICFI will introduce and present works of researchers, particularly on the role of Rumi, in conveying Persian literature to the Turkish people, Mehr News Agency reported.
Experts on Rumi such as the late Badiozzaman Forouzanfar (1904-1970) scholar of Persian literature and linguistics, late Abdolhossein Zarinkoub (1923-1999) scholar of Iranian literature and Mohammad-Reza Shafiee-Kadkani, 76, writer, poet, literary critic, editor and translator, will be introduced at the event.
The theme this year’s is “Humor: Looking at Life with a Smile.” Prominent foreign and Turkish writers will also attend.
