The play ‘Someday, Dandelions will Arrive’ co-directed by Sahar Shahgaldi and Maneli Vafadari, went on stage at Le Zèbre de Belleville theatre hall in Paris, in commemoration of the International Day of Peace (September 21).

It was sponsored by the Union Internationale de la Marionnette - International Puppetry Association (UNIMA) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

A production of ‘The Sun Theatre Group’, the play combines puppetry and actors with the theme on peace and war-stricken children, IRNA reports.

Along with another production of the group, ‘The Wise Man’, adapted from ‘The Unwise Man’ by Hovhannes Tumanyan (Armenian author and poet), the play was previously staged at the HIGH-FEST International Performing Arts Festival in Armenia, Barielly Festival of India and Sobutica International Theatre Festival. It was also performed at the 1st Festival of ‘Dolls for Peace and Intercultural Dialogue,’ held earlier in Armenia.

Additionally, the group was the only Iranian representative at the 69th edition of Avignon Theatre Festival in France, one of the biggest performing arts festivals in the world, held in July.

The International Day of Peace is dedicated to world peace, and specifically the absence of war and violence. This year’s theme is ‘Partnerships for Peace - Dignity for All.’
