Abbas Rafei’s film ‘Oblivion Season’ won the best film award at the Brasov International Film Festival (BRIFF) in Romania.
Directed and produced by Rafei, the film had its European premier, screening in the competition section of the festival in the Romanian city of Brasov, and won the best film award, Mehr News Agency reported.
It competed with 12 other films from around the world at BRIFF, which “is seen as the most important and renowned nonviolent film festival in the world” and held every year in Romania from September 3-13.
The film has already bagged several awards at international festivals including the third Annual Rahway International Film Festival in New Jersey, and Hudson Festival in New York as well as the 39th Montreal World Film Festival.
It narrates the story of an Iranian woman who starts a new life by marrying her loved one, but her dark past will not stop chasing her and she faces trouble even though she is supported by her husband.
The cast includes Sareh Bayat, Amin Zendegani and Shahin Taslimi.
This year’s edition was dedicated to the women of the world, their problems and the challenges they face in different countries.
