A play ‘The Sunset in Early Days of Fall,’ written by Akbar Hasani and Abolfazl Haji-Alikhani and directed by Alireza Mehran, is on stage at Tehran’s Mah Theater.

Mehran said the play is a new experience in Sacred Defense (a reference to the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war) theatre genre and revolves around the sidelines of the imposed war. It tells the story of a small Arab speaking tribe that lives near Khorramshahr, Khuzestan Province, near the Iraqi border. The Ashira (tribe) face a dilemma between supporting their Iranian compatriots or their Arab-speaking fellowmen.

The play originally went on stage two years ago when it attracted wide public attention as well as jury awards for the best director, best set designer and best author at the 14th Sacred Defense Theater Festival, Honaronline reported.

The cast includes Abolfazl Haji-Alikhani, Safoora Kazempur, Shoreh Mokri, Sayeh Kabiri and Hamid Habibifar.

The play will be on stage until October 2.
