Niavaran Cultural Center will host eminent visual artists in photography, painting, sculpture, installation art and graphics at the third Grand Festival of Art for Peace 2015.

The opening ceremony, slated for September 11, will be attended by cultural officials, ambassadors and representatives of international organizations, festival director Fereidoun Farboud, was quoted as saying by Honaronline.

The program will see the participation of 150 artists, delivering the message of building and sustaining peace through a series of inspiring art, addressing people of all ages.

Farboud said, “Peace is a beautiful concept and a main concern of humanity.”

Over 150 artworks from Iran’s first generation of artists in different artistic fields will be on display. Fereidoun Ave, sculptor, Parviz Tanavoli, painter and sculptor, Mohammad Ahsaei, calligraphist and graphist, Abbas Kiarostami and Nasser Taqvai film directors, Reza Kianian, actor, Ali Shirazi, calligraphist and Behnam Kamrani, painter are among the participants.

“This year’s edition will also include music and poetry sessions,” Farboud said. An exhibition of paintings by children of Mahak Charity, which supports kids with cancer, will also be hosted.

The festival is dedicated to the International Day of Peace (September 21) and will commemorate Sacred Defense (1980-88 Iran-Iraq war).

Rahnama Graphic Group, Mojdeh Art Gallery, Vista Art Gallery, Shirin Art Gallery, Mahak Charity, Society for Protection of the Rights of the Child, Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art and Niavaran Artistic Creations Foundation are sponsoring the festival, which will run through September 21.
