30 Iranian Movies in Sweden, Russia

Cinematic productions of filmmakers from Iran are currently on screen at a film event in Russia. Many more films are also scheduled to be screened in Sweden next month.
A total of 19 Iranian movies will be shown at the Yari film festival in Sweden arranged by the charity Yari.
It was founded in 1998 by Iranian residents in the Swedish city of Uppsala and is an independent, non-profit organization.
Yari, meaning ‘help’ in Persian, is an annual film festival arranged by the charity to collect money through ticket sales to build schools and libraries for underprivileged children in Iran.
Feature-length, short and documentary films are in this year’s edition, Mehr News Agency reported.
Feature films ‘13’ by Houman Seyyedi, Rakhshan Banietemad’s ‘Tales’, ‘Snow’ by Mehdi Rahmani, ‘Guinness’ by Mohsen Tanabandeh and documentary ‘Iranian Ninja’ by Marjan Riahi are among the entries.
The annual festival also invites Iranian actors to the program. Roya Teimourian, Rima Raminfar, Mohsen Tanabandeh, Hossein Shahabi, Amir Jafari and Masoud Rayegan are the guests of honor this year.
The festival is slated for October 3-4 in the Swedish cities of Stockholm and Uppsala.
 Festival for Muslims
A total of 11 feature, short, documentary and animated films are competing in the Kazan International Festival of Muslim Cinema, currently underway in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, September 5-11.
Two feature films Narges Abyar’s ‘Track 143’ and ‘Borderless’ by Amir-Hossein Asgari, short film ‘Elegy’ by Yousef Kargar and documentary ‘A House in Fog’ by Mokhtar Namdar, are among Iranian productions competing in different sections of the event.
The festival aims to display the creative achievements of Muslim cinematographers and representatives of other religions that popularize humanity, spiritual and moral values as well as cultural traditions through their films.
Held in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan since 2005, the festival motto is “Dialogue of cultures through the culture of dialogue.”
