Alireza Raeesian’s ‘Time to Love’ and Amir Ansari’s ‘Rabies’ will be screened in Iran and Germany.

Mohammad Yousefi, Iranian filmmaker who lives in Germany, plans to screen the two films in German movie theaters in September and October, Mehr News Agency reported.

A romantic drama, ‘Time to Love’ features Leila Hatami and Shahab Hosseini, Bita Farahi, Parviz Pourhosseini and Farhad Aslani. It took home the Crystal Simorgh award for Best Screenplay at Iran’s 33rd Fajr International Film Festival.

The story is about a married woman’s unwanted pregnancy. The film juxtaposes the ups and downs experienced by two people locked in a stormy relationship, in the context of social issues.

Currently on screen in Iran, it will also compete in the Montreal Film Festival, slated for August 27-September 7.

‘Rabies’ is a social film on the problems and complicated relationships among people in Tehran. The movie compares the hardships to rabies, a deadly virus which needs immediate treatment to prevent death.

Jamshid Hashempour, Hengameh Qaziani, Akbar Moazezi, Milad Keymaram and Mina Sadati are among the cast.

Earlier this year, Saman Moqadam’s ‘The Whale’ was also screened in Cologne and Frankfurt, Germany, simultaneous with its release in Iran. The comedy, with Reza Attaran, Mahnaz Afshar and Vishka Asayesh in lead roles, has topped the annual local box office.
