‘Track 143’ at 2 Int’l Festivals

Narges Abyar’s acclaimed feature film ‘Track 143’ will be screened at two film festivals in Russia and Japan.
The film is an entry in the Aichi International Women’s Film Festival (AIWFF) in Nagoya, Japan, slated for September 1-6, Mehr News Agency reported.
A Russian festival will also screen the film. Kazan International Muslim Film Festival, September 1-11, in the Republic of Tatarstan, will show ‘Track 143’.
A screen adaptation of Abyar’s novel ‘The Third Eye’, the movie tells the story of a mother waiting for her son who has gone missing in the 1980-1988 Iraq-Iran war.
‘Track 143’ has already attended several Asian festivals and won Special Jury Award for Best Actress (Merila Zarei) at the Asia-Pacific Film Festival in Australia, as well as the Audience Award for Best Film at annual Reel Sydney Festival of World Cinema.
Abyar is currently directing her third feature film ‘Breath’. A social drama, the new movie deals with another aspect of the Iraqi imposed war and “its effect on the people in modern times.”
