‘Sun City’ Ready for TIBF‘Sun City’ Ready for TIBF

The newly-established ‘Sun City’ is ready to host next year’s edition of the Tehran International Book Fair.

The new venue in 138 hectares is the second biggest exhibition center in Asia and the third in the world after similar establishments in Germany and China, Mehr News Agency reported.

The head of Tehran Municipality Art and Cultural Organization, Mahmoud Salahi, said Imam Khomeini Grand Mosalla is not a suitable place to hold the TIBF.

“We have sent a request to Minister of Culture Ali Jannati for confirmation of the new venue, and asked him to pay a visit.”

The first phase of Sun City in an area of 65,000 sq m is ready to begin operations. The Sun City subway station will be inaugurated in two months to facilitate commutation.

Air conditioning, roads and official lobbies of the venue are ready and “it is lighly likely that the 29th TIBF be held at the Sun City.”

Still under construction, the other part of the venue will have 4 and 5-star hotels, an apartment hotel and over 100 commercial units.

Sun City is located on Tehran-Qom highway, near Imam Khomeini International Airport.
