Murals Contest on Tehran School Walls

The Tehran Beautification Organization is planning to hold a mural competition on city school walls to celebrate the beginning of the new academic year (starts September 23).
The competition will be adjudged by the Painters Association of Iran (PAI), Mehr News Agency reported.
Masoumeh Mozaffari, PAI director said the association will publish ‘The Year Book’ in collaboration with the TBO. Painting exhibitions at the PAI are also planned this fall.
“We are working on the establishment of the Iran Painting Museum, to publicly display valuable artworks.” Training and analysis sessions on painting would be held, with cooperation of the University of Art, for university students.
Setting up various clubs for illustrators, sculptors, painters, photographers and pottery artists are among other programs, she said.
The PAI welfare committee is proposing effective measures for painter artists, including insurance coverage, for which financial support would be required.
Tehran Municipality has provided venues for different visual art societies, Mozaffari said, adding, that a new building will be allocated to the association.
