Jannati to Attend MIBF Opening

Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati will address the opening ceremony of the 28th Moscow International Book fair (MIBF) on September 2.
Iran is the guest of honor at this year’s edition of the fair slated for September 2-7 in Moscow and Jannati is among the speakers at the inauguration, Tasnim News Agency reported
A stall of 310 sq m is dedicated to Iran, director of the International Book Fairs Institute Amir-Masoud Shahramnia said.
Cultural organizations and several known authors, linguists and professors from Iran are to attend the book fair.
Iranian cultural and artistic programs including screening of movies will be held on the sidelines.
This is the eighth consecutive year that Iran is participating in the Russian fair. The two sides signed a MoU in 2006 by which each has a free stall in the international book fair of the other country. Russian publishers also take part in the Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) annually.
Established in 1977, MIBF is an official member of the International Organization of Book Publishers. At the upcoming MIBF, the Iran Cultural Fairs Institute (ICFI) will represent Iran.
