Permits were issued to 594 mass media outlets in the first three months of the year (started March 21), of which 349 are print media and the rest, digital and online media.
Among the 349 print media, 25 weeklies, 43 biweeklies, 126 monthlies, 35 bimonthlies, 97 quarterlies, 18 biannual and 5 yearbooks were granted publication permits.
At the provincial level, the highest number of permits was granted to West Azarbaijan, Isfahan and Qom with 31, 29 and 26 licenses respectively.
The Press Supervisory Board of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance held eight meetings in this regard in the presence of Culture Minister Ali Jannati.
Last year, 1,160 publication licenses were issued.
