Well-known Iranian actress Negar Javaherian has been named as a member of the International Jury of Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) to be held in Brisbane, Australia later this year.

The announcement was made during a prestigious event at the world headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris earlier this month, Asia Pacific website reported.

Javaherian, 32, was the star of the Iranian film ‘The Painting Pool’ which won the APSA UNESCO Award in 2013. She has also performed in movies including ‘Gold and Copper’, ‘Here Without Me’, ‘A Cube of Sugar’, ‘Tales’, ‘Melbourne’ and ‘Minor Leap Down’, all of which have been entries in several international festivals.

She won the Crystal Simorgh for the Best Actress in a Leading Role for ‘Gold and Copper’ at the 28th Fajr International Film Festival in 2010 and the Silver Astor Award for Best Actress in the 29th Mar del Plata International Film Festival, Argentina, in 2014.
