The Tehran Municipality Art and Cultural Organization will host a competition on designing a cartoon character with Islamic-Iranian identity.
The competition will create incentives for artists to produce educational and cultural content with Iranian-Islamic identity, promote commercialization of cartoon characters and create opportunities to work in the field of animation.
The cartoon characters must bear "charm and flexibility" needed for an animated film and also help promote educational and cultural content, ISNA reported.
Selected works will be given cash prizes. Besides, all accepted works will be displayed at the Iranian Artists Forum in Tehran. The cartoon character bagging the first prize will be introduced and used in an animation.
There are no prerequisites for applicants and anyone can register up to five entries by August 1 via the online portal of iranchr.ir. The list of accepted works will be announced on August 16 and the exhibition will be held on September 1.
