The Iranian film ‘13’ directed by Houman Seyyedi won two prizes for Best Film and Best Screenplay at the 21st Shanghai International Film Festival.
The film won the prizes after competing with several films from China, Indonesia, South Korea, India, Japan and Taiwan.
It received accolades in its public screening in several cinemas in Shanghai, reports IRNA.
Last October, the film won the Netpack Award for Best Asian Film at the Warsaw International Film Festival. The Netpack jury comprised three international jurors from India, Japan and Poland, who appreciated the film for “its attitude towards human being’s social relations and special attention to issues of the youth.”
Netpack is a foundation that seeks to promote Asian films and grants award in a bid to introduce talented Asian filmmakers to the world.
The film was screened in the first and second films competition section in the Warsaw Film Festival simultaneously with the Busan Film Festival’s new wave section where it was also awarded.
