The play, ‘Someday, Dandelions will Arrive’ co-directed by Sahar Shahgaldi and Maneli Vafadari, is on stage at the 1st Festival of ‘Dolls for Peace and Intercultural Dialogue’ which runs till June 7 in Armenia.
The play combines actors and puppets with the theme on “peace and war-stricken children,” Honaronline reported.
The festival is sponsored by UNIMA (Union Internationale de la Marionnette - International Puppetry Association) and UNESCO. On the occasion, artists from all over the world will plant a tree in the Peace Park of Armenia symbolizing global peace. The play is also slated to be staged at France Onion Festival from June 12-14.
It was earlier performed at the HIGH-FEST International Performing Arts Festival in Armenia by Shahgaldi and Vafadari, directors of ‘The Sun Theatre Group.’
The cast includes Shahgaldi, Vafadari, Hamidreza Shahgaldi and Mani Rabei. The group had staged the play ‘The Wise Man’, adapted from Armenian author and poet Hovhannes Tumanyan’s ‘The Unwise Man’ in the 2014 UNIMA Festival in Armenia.
