Helping Hand to Needy School Kids

Close to 100,000 centers for ‘Jashne Atefeha’, a philanthropic festival to collect donations and gifts for underprivileged school children, will be inaugurated throughout the country on October 8.

The centers will be set up in schools, public pathways, and Friday prayer grounds for 3 days, IRNA quoted the head of Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation (IKRF) Hossein Anvari as saying.
It is a humanitarian gesture and is held annually on the occasion of school reopening. The event calls for the “generous people of the country to help the needy students who are deprived of even basic items for their studies.”
The ceremony is held every year by the IKRF. The foundation is responsible for empowering families under its cover, mostly those who have their lost bread-winners and other members, and have difficulty in making ends meet.
‘Jashne Atefeha’ provides an opportunity for many families among the upper and middle classes, to participate in charitable events by making cash donations as well as other items which they think are necessary for a typical student, from stationeries to clothes.
