The Iranian short film ‘Silent Notes’ directed by Taha Ghanimifard, a hearing-impaired filmmaker, was screened at the 5th Toronto International Deaf Film & Arts Festival (TIDFAF) which ran through May 27-31.

The film, a co-production of Iran and Austria, depicts the story of a young guitar player who stumbles upon a group of senior citizens and plays a piece of music for them, MNA reported.

TIDFAF is a non-profit organization that presents biannual arts and cultural festival that promotes educational awareness, cultural diversity, and the celebration of emerging ‘Deaf Cinema’ through the visual medium.

The biannual festival showcases the work of talented national and international deaf, hard of hearing, and deaf-blind filmmakers and artists as well as those who produce works in collaboration with the deaf and hearing community.
