National football teams from Iran and Uzbekistan will play a preparatory match on June 11 in Uzbekistan’s capital city, Tashkent.

Preparing his team for the preliminary round of the 2018 Qatar World Cup, Carlos Queiroz, head coach of Iran national team, has arranged for two short-term camps in Turkey and Uzbekistan in the short run, IRNA reported.

Earlier on Saturday, head of Iranian Football Federation Ali Kaffashian advised the Portuguese coach not to worry about support and “to keep on training the team.”

During the past weeks, Queiroz had conflicts with Iranian authorities and even announced his resignation, claiming he had the support of neither the ministry of sport nor the football federation.

“Queiroz was worried about the future, but in the recent meeting of the presiding board of the football federation in Mashhad it was decided that he stay and continue his work with the support of the federation,” Kaffashian said.
