An enigmatic play titled ‘Orange Scream’ with a single-person cast went on stage on April 27 at Mashayekhi Theater Hall.
“The play is a realistic work of art that depicts social adversities through satire,” said Bahar Azari, its director, Mehr News Agency reported.
The solo cast enacts six characters in a comedy monodrama. It tells the story of a boy who witnesses a horrible incident on his way while taking out trash at 1:30 am. The incident engulfs his entire life from that moment.
“The whole performance is realistic and integrates no elements of fantasy or extraordinary illusions; I was also the set designer and arranged it accordingly,” said Azari about her work.
A chair on the set signifies the home interior and two street lamps demonstrate the scenes on the street.
The play was written by Mohammad Reza Sajjadian, who is also the performer.
The 40-minute play will run every night till May 15 at the theater at No 53, Ghobadian Street, Mirdamad Street, Valiasr Avenue, Tehran.
