The 2nd International Exhibition of Information Technology and Digital Media (ITDMEX) will end Tuesday.

Inaugurated at the Tehran International Permanent Fairground on September 6, the 4-day exhibition is host to local and international participants, IRNA reported.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, chairman of Iran Confederation of Information and Communication Technology Associations, Mohamadreza Talaaei said, "Using information and communication technology (ICT) in business enterprises leads to lowering costs and wastage of resources. It also helps improve quality and efficiency of systems. This can become a strategic advantage for firms and cause the emergence of new markets, while improving macro-economic variables."

Highlights

Local and foreign knowledge-based companies in the field of IT and content production offered new services, as well as workshops at the fair.

'Super Shoot' is an android game developed by local company Arina Studio. Benefitting from the popularity of two major Iranian soccer clubs, Esteghlal and Persepolis and their well-known players, the game offers an exciting shooting competition to football fans. It has been downloaded over 160,000 times and will be registered in the android software shop, Google Play. The game has been ranked as one of the top ten android games by critics in App Review.

Publications of 'Arian Tarjoman' Cultural Institute unveiled a translator tablet to accurately translate Oxford and Longman entries and examples. It is the first pocket translator tablet ever made in the country.

'Jubin' mobile library is another application presented in the expo which allows users to view 20 highly circulated local newspapers and magazines. The program can be installed on android cell-phones and tablets.

In general, the visitors to this year's edition of the exhibition expressed satisfaction about the new products and services presented along with the workshops held by different companies to increase public awareness about the advantages of using IT and digital media in everyday life.

Int'l Showcase

More than 120 Iranian and foreign companies participated in the fair, a good showcase for companies active in the field of IT and digital media to present new products and achievements. ITDMEX provided the platform for newly established and innovative companies to introduce themselves to the market.

The slogan for this year's expo was 'Smart Life, Economy and Culture Development' to emphasize the fact that smart life helps improve the economy of the society.
