Eight foreign theater groups will take part in the 9th Marivan International Street Theater Festival slated to open on October 17.
Street theater groups from Portugal, Spain, Serbia, Azerbaijan Republic, Armenia, Poland and Kurdistan have so far registered with the festival secretariat, Rahim Jafari, director general of Culture and Islamic Guidance Department, Kordestan Province said on Saturday, quoted by IRNA.
The main objectives of the upcoming festival include using capacities of cultural diplomacy in global equilibrium and exchanges, promoting peace and reconciliation across the world, Middle East in particular, and introducing culture and Islamic values globally, he said.
