Iranian Qur’an memorizer Hajar Mehralian is participating in the 10th International Qur’an Competition in the Jordanian capital Amman.
Mehralian will compete in the category of memorization of the entire Qur’an, Asghar Khosravi, an official at Iran’s Awqaf (endowment) and Charity Affairs Organization told IQNA.
She came first in the 36th edition of the national Qur’an contest and has topped the students’ Qur’an competition as well.
The competition in Jordan is held annually for both men and women. The women’s contest is organized in the lunar month of Rajab (April 20-May 19 this year) while the men’s contest takes place in the holy month of Ramadan (June 18-July 17).
Mohammadreza Ahamdi will represent the Islamic Republic in the men’s section of the event.
