According to the latest ranking of the United World Wrestling, Hamid Sourian has maintained his position as the best Greco-Roman wrestler in weight class of 59 kg.

Moreover, Omid Nowrouzi achieved the second place of class 66 kg, while Afshin Biabangard held the third place in 71 class.

Sourian, born in 1985 in Tehran, is a six-time world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling. He amazingly won both the Junior World Championships and Senior World Championships in 2005. He is also 2007 and 2008 Asian gold medalist. He won the gold medal in the 55 kg Greco-Roman competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics, IRNA reported.

Sourian claimed his sixth world title in the world championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in September 2014. He won the gold medal at the 2005 Budapest, 2006 Guangzhou, 2007 Baku, 2009 Herning and 2010 Moscow.
