Iran and Tajikistan have agreed to expand their library cooperation.
In a meeting between Iran’s cultural attaché in Tajikistan, Masoud Ahmadvand and head of Central Library of Tajikistan, Abdul Ghaffar Mollayev in Khojand on Saturday, the two sides stressed the need to promote bilateral cooperation especially in the area of libraries.
Ahmadvand referred to the “maintenance skills, copying of manuscripts, codicology and data banks as potential areas of cooperation” between the two countries. He also offered holding of workshops and training courses for Tajik library experts.
The Tajik official welcomed the cooperation and expressed interest in visiting major Iranian libraries.
