The official poster for the 14th International Documentary Film Festival ‘Flahertiana’ in Russia was released with a picture from the Iranian documentary ‘Trucker and the Fox’.
In last year’s edition of the festival, the movie, directed by Arash Lahooti, bagged the first prize, the Big Golden Nanook for the best film, cinemapress reported.
This year’s edition will screen two documentaries from Iran in the international competition section. ‘Iranian Ninja’ by Marjan Riahi and ‘Mashti Esmaeil’ by Mehdi Zamanpoor compete with other films from Russia, Italy, Poland, Canada, France, the Netherlands, etc.
In addition, four more Iranian films which were purchased by the festival manager last year will also be screened during the event.
The festival, launched on September 21 in Perm, one of Russian centers of culture, will conclude on September 28.
The first edition of the festival was held in 1995. Since 2006 it officially became an annual international documentary film festival.
Global Presence
Following its international screening, the 2013 documentary ‘Trucker and the Fox’ has entered the competition section of the Budapest International Documentary Festival (BIDF). This film is the only one from Iran and will screen among 50 other documentary films from around the world. It will be screened till September 28 at Corvin Cinema, Budapest.
The story centers on a truck driver’s fascinating life as a family man, eccentric animal lover, and artist.
