An exhibition of 40 years of cinematic posters by well-known artist Ebrahim Haghighi was inaugurated at Milad Tower’s art gallery on Monday.
The exhibition displays Haghighi’s remarkable and unique cinematic poster collection as he is undoubtedly the only Iranian graphic designer who has continuously worked on the subject of cinema and therefore made such a unique collection, Honaronline reported.
As Haghighi put it, the two factors which guarantee a movie poster to last forever are the film itself and the client who orders it. “First of all, the movie should be worthy enough to make me, as a designer, feel good about it and then comes the client who should know exactly what he wants to order,” Haghighi said.
A former cinema official Seyed Mohammad Beheshti, head of visual arts department at the ministry of culture Majid Molla-Norouzi, and a number of cinematographers were present.
Ebrahim Haghighi was born in 1959. He is a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI), one of the founders and a member of the Iranian Graphic Designers Society (IGDS), member of the Children’s Books Illustrators Society and the Iran’s Documentary Film Makers Society. He started graphic design in different fields in 1968 and is one of the most active Iranian professional graphic designers.
