The ‘coming of age’ ceremony of girl students in Iran’s southern Fars Province was held at the Shah Cheragh holy shrine in Shiraz Saturday (Feb. 7).
The ceremony is held for girls at age 9, as in Islam, they are recognized as having reached maturity at this age in religious matters and thence should follow religious rituals.
