A poster exhibition on the subject “A World Against Violence and Extremism (WAVE)” will be held at Niavaran Cultural Center from February 6-24. Nearly 93 artworks from Iranian and international artists from 16 countries will be displayed at the exhibition.

The idea of “a world free of violence and extremism” was proposed by President Hassan Rouhani at the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 25, 2013. The Iranian website Todaysposters.com took up the proposal to organize an exhibition of posters from world artists on the subject, Mehr News Agency reported.

Iranian graphic designers and also artists from Italy, France, Finland, Poland, Serbia, China, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey, Mexico, South Korea, Russia, Ecuador, Iraq, Taiwan and Macau, are taking part in the exhibition which will be held with the support and cooperation of the Institute of Contemporary Arts, free zones’ Coordination Council for Cultural and Social Affairs and visual art department of the ministry of culture and Islamic guidance.

President Rouhani in his speech had said Iran is seeking a world free of violence and extremism and believes dialogue could settle misunderstandings and establish global peace and tranquility.
