Women’s participation in the economy is one fifth of men’s, Abol-Hassan Firoozababdi, the deputy minister of labor and social affairs said in a conference on Monday. As IRNA quoted the official, the ratio is remarkably low in Iran, compared to the Middle East, where women’s participation is one forth of their male counterparts. Women’s participation is currently higher in industrial, agricultural, and service sectors, as compared to other areas, Firoozababdi said.
