90% Rise in Sistan-Baluchestan Exports

More than 1 million tons of goods worth $479.24 million were exported from the southern Sistan-Baluchestan Province during the first eight months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Nov. 21) to register a 5% decrease in tonnage and a 90% increase in value compared with last year’s corresponding period.

According to Reza Rasti, an official with Sistan-Baluchestan Customs Administration, the exported commodities mainly included cement, fruit, gas and ceramics.

Afghanistan and Pakistan were the main export destinations, IRNA reported.

A total of 451,320 tons of goods worth $599 million were imported into the province during the same period to register a 6% and 14% growth in tonnage and value respectively year-on-year. 

Imports mainly included rice, sesame and mangoes.
