Results of tenders for developing five oilfields in the south and southwest regions have been announced and five companies whose bids have been accepted will sign a contract with the National Iranian South Oil Company, the largest subsidiary of the National Iranian Oil Company, to start working on the fields.
NISOC, which is responsible for the development of 27 oilfields, announced the tenders and the Ramshir, Kaboud and Lali Asmari oilfields in Khuzestan Province, Gachsaran Khami Oilfield in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, and Nargesi Oilfield in the province of Bushehr have found contractors for their development, the NIOC news portal reported.
According to the tender results, Oil Industries' Engineering and Construction Company will develop the Ramshir Oildfield and Pars Energy Gostar Drilling and Exploration Company will work on Kaboud Oilfield.
Development of Lali Asmari and Gachsaran Khami oilfields has been given to Petro Gohar Farasahel Kish and National Iranian Drilling Company respectively. Dana Drilling Company will develop the Nargesi Oilfield.
Master plans are based on strategies to boost output, finance and rehabilitate ramshackle installations.
“Output of the 27 oilfields currently comprises 63% of the total oil production of NISOC,” said Sadeq Fathollahi, director of NISOC production expansion.
Based on the development plans, output of all oilfields will increase by 2020 and cost $4.6 billion.”
An estimated $1.7 billion will be allocated for drilling and the rest for refining and construction of petrochemical plants.
Fathollahi said the plan requires digging of 280 wells and repairing 300 others. “The new programs will help add 650,000 barrels per day of oil to overall output,” he added.
NISOC operates 45 oil and gas deposits. It accounts for almost 80% of Iran’s total crude oil production and more than 15% of gas.
Oil production is reported at three million barrels per day, 1.2 million bpd of which is exported. Before the new US sanctions crude oil exports were in the range of 2.5 million barrels a day.
