Iran Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif headed to the Turkish city of Antalya on Friday to attend a ministerial meeting of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation.
D-8, also known as the Developing-8, is an organization geared toward expanding cooperation among eight countries, namely Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Egypt, Nigeria and Turkey.
Turkey, where the organization's headquarters is located, is hosting the 18th session of the D-8 Council of Foreign Ministers on Saturday.
Zarif is attending the meeting at the head of a high-ranking delegation, IRNA reported.
He had been to Turkey earlier this week to meet his Turkish and Azerbaijani counterparts.
Antalya also played host to the 41st session of the D-8 Commission on Nov. 1 and 2. Commissioners and heads of delegation from all the D-8 member states took part in the two-day event.
