A total of 908,833 tons of mineral products worth more than $15 million were exported from the southern Hormozgan Province during the first half of the current fiscal year (March 21-Sept. 22).
The main exported products over the period under review were gypsum stone, construction material, cement and different kinds of micronized mineral powders.
"The exports headed to the UAE, Qatar, Bangladesh and some African countries,” Ebrahim Sadeyni, the deputy head of Hormozgan Industries, Mining and Trade Organization, was quoted as saying by IRNA.
The official noted that 438 mineral production units are active in Hormozgan, which have created more than 6,000 jobs.
