IRGC General in Pakistan Over Abducted Guards

Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Ground Force Mohammad Pakpour traveled to Pakistan on Monday to pursue the fate of 12 border guards who were recently kidnapped and taken into Pakistan by terrorists.

“From the very beginning of the kidnapping incident, the IRGC made special and immediate efforts to secure the release of the border guards,” IRGC Spokesman Ramazan Sharif said on Monday, Tasnim News Agency reported.

Accordingly, General Pakpour left Tehran for Pakistan this morning at the head of a high-ranking delegation to pursue the issue.

Last Tuesday, the IRGC Ground Force said a number of its troops and local Basij forces had been abducted at a border post in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan in the early hours of the day. The so-called Jaish al-Adl terror group has claimed the abduction.
