Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei called on state institutions, academic centers and intellectual circles to review the draft of the Islamic-Iranian Model of Progress and offer their views for improving and completing the high-level document.
The model worked out by a group of academic and clerical scholars over the past seven years outlines the key principles and goals of national progress in the next five decades as well as effective strategies to achieve the objectives.
In a Sunday statement posted on his official website, the Leader also tasked the center in charge of designing the model with examining the views and proposals to prepare the final version of the document within two years so that it can be implemented as of the beginning of the new century in the Iranian calendar, which coincides with the fiscal 2021-22.
"With its implementation, which is a massive but feasible and rewarding task, the country will go down the path of progress and the modern Islamic-Iranian civilization will dawn within the realm of Iran," the statement read.
The institutions assigned with duties in the statement include the Expediency Council, parliament, government, Supreme National Security Council, universities, theological schools, the state broadcaster and other official media outlets.
The model envisions certain conditions for the country in 2065. In the vision, for instance, Iran will be among the top five advanced states in terms of science and technology and among the top 10 global economies in 50 years.
The environment will be preserved and exploitation of natural resources would be sustainable. Poverty, corruption and discrimination will be eradicated and social security will be extended equally to every citizen.
In 2065, Iran will be among the top four Asian and top seven countries worldwide in terms of general development and justice.
The document has also proposed a list of guidelines to fulfill the goals. These include supporting multilateralism, developing diplomacy and contributing to global peace.
Training skilled workforce, promoting research studies, supporting intellectuals and entrepreneurs, and narrowing the gap between households' incomes are among other measures on the list.
